Thanks to the legal petion filed by fellow minded organizations and PAN IIM, the Supreme Court of India affected a stay on increasing reservation from 22 % to 49 % in IIMS.
This means, almost 400 PGP students of general category (or 27 % of 1500) were admitted to IIMS , who otherwise would have been denied admission but for the writ petition.
I am sure they are quite unaware of this, but the energetic activities of a few good Indians have helped the careers of 400 students (this year alone)
In 2006-7, Pan IIM did the following events
1) Organize a mega event at India Habitat Centre, bringing in 400+ alumi from all six IIM’s .Alumnus who were PGP from 1960’s to 2006 attended and so did IIM Directors.
2) Pan IIM Golf event was organized in Delhi
3) Pan IIM Cocktail making session was organized.
Next Initiative- Engage the government for creating centres of excellence at IIMs , and thus fulfilling Pandit Nehru’s vision of creating temples of Modern India.
